An eye examination is an essential component of regular health checks. The standard eyetest includes a check of your vision and also a look at the overall health of your eyes.
Appointments are available Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and can be booked by phoning Gisborne Optical Centre on 5428 4100.
This eye exam is bulkbilled on presentation of your medicare card, so there is no extra cost to you. If you currently wear glasses, then bring them along and the optometrist can advise you if there has been any change in your prescription.
During your eyetest the optometrist asks questions regarding your family and medical history, as some eye conditions and diseases are hereditary.
Some of the eyetests done include:
Glaucoma assessment
Colour vision testing
Cataract assessment
Sometimes drops will be used, and the optometrist will advise you if you will need someone to drive you home
